A reactionary five minute project inspired by the opening cover of the complete overview of the work and philosophy of John Maeda, Maeda @ Media (Universe publishing). This computational form is composed of simple random line sweeps in a pentatonic arrangement. Press the GENERATE NEW MAEDA SECTION button to erase the old form and begin computation on a new one. One of four unique, Maeda approved palettes, is chosen with each new generation. Each palette contains seven dissident hues, of which five are chosen for the actual assembly. Line sizes and sweep paths are randomly determined, yet follow loose constraints as they meander from one end of the field to the other. This computational module is an expansion of an original illustration by John Maeda. It is the first result in a series of Maeda inspired computational evenings. |
