The Root Gardener is a system of selective recursive growth. Click on any of the root elements to give them a spurt of growth. The recursive root system is a reoccuring theme at Levitated. The simple process of creating a branching computational structure lends itself well to exploration and further experimentation. In this system, the growth of root elements is controlled by the user through careful selection. Each time a root element is clicked, it grows in size and adjusts it's rotation slightly. When a root element reaches a certain size, it spawns child elements. This project is the result of an investigation into a gaming system where players compete for resources using organic growth processes.
